Hi, I'm Caterina Brighetti!
🎓 Recently graduated in Building Engineering-Architecture with a focus on sustainability and urban quality. I completed my Master's degree at the University of Bologna with a design thesis focused on the redevelopment of the Prati di Caprara, a complex urban context marked by architectural remnants, dense vegetation, and a state of abandonment. This project allowed me to define the key principles that guide my design approach and which I intend to apply throughout my career. 📌 During my academic journey, I developed a strong interest in architectural composition and urban planning, identifying these fields as my ideal areas of expertise. I deeply believe in architecture that serves both the context and the people: the project stems from listening to the community and observing the territory closely. I used open data and GIS software to conduct objective site assessments, integrating urban planning methods such as ecosystem service evaluations. The goal of my intervention was to find a balance between nature, memory, and new construction, creating an immersive and protected space, different from the frenetic urban system surrounding it. 📚 The curricular internship I completed at the Department of Architecture of the University of Bologna allowed me to engage with university research, deepening my understanding of analytical tools and observing how academic structures operate. 📍 My goal is to work at the urban level, because it is in cities where change takes shape, and where the quality of daily life is defined. I believe that architecture can be a powerful tool for improving our relationship with the environment. 📷 Architecture has always fascinated me: even today, I walk with my gaze turned upwards, just like when I was a child, looking for the point where buildings meet the sky. 💬 I would love to connect with those who design change while respecting the environment.
